Among the thousands of the finest woven threads joined together in picturesque canvases, three series of “precious” textile canvases were created: Penelope among cities (2009), Song of Songs (2010) and St. Petersburg (2011). The forms of installations can be very diverse depending on the space and the idea. According to the artist's intention, “precious fabric” is exhibited on a museum mannequin with loose strings drawn and fastened to the podium. The painstaking process of creating each installation requires a lot of time, but it allows to show the viewer the entire unique Beauty of the object of contemporary art, revealing every millimeter of the richest surface color of the fabric.

In the installations of Elena Tkachenko, a planar object acquires volume proving to be in close contact with the viewer. Color takes shape.
